When something looks wrong

Which names can I use?

The worksheet supports Latin letters and accents, Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters in its fonts. Chinese, Japanese and Korean names use square guides. An unavailable character will show an error before you download.

A Han character looks different

Auto uses Japanese forms when a name contains kana and Korean forms when it contains Hangul. For names with shared Han characters, Auto follows the Worksheet language setting. Choose Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, or Korean there; Character forms overrides Auto. This changes character shapes only; it never translates or rewrites the name.

The page is cut off

Check that the paper sizes match. If your printer clips an edge, use Fit to printable area and check a test page. This may make the letters slightly smaller.

A long name looks small

Long names are reduced to fit the writing area. Try a larger letter size in More settings and check the preview. If the name still fills the line, use a shorter form only if that is the name you want the child to practise.

The dotted letters look faint

Try standard or high print quality and switch off draft or toner-saving mode. Light gray is a different tracing style; choose Dotted if you want dotted letters. Check one printed sheet before printing the full set.
